Kent Sash Windows Restoration is a small independent company offering repairs, restoration and draught proofing to sash windows in and around Canterbury, Whitstable, Dover and Deal. Draught Proofing

Draught proofing of sash windows with a rebated and hidden system has been implemented for over twenty years. Materials have not changed at all. Brush pile and carrier are still the staple of any company carrying out upgrades. Most now use a quality English old number four sash cord designed with strength and durability in mind. You may think that sounds technical, well really we are talking about a 6mm diameter rope designed to carry 90lbs of sash without strain. We combine modern technology with traditional sympathetic methods to provide you with the comfort and piece of mind in your home.

We are often told ‘ We love our original windows but they are so cold and draughty, what can we do?’. I tell every single customer the same. We can draught proof your windows, and if you really want to clamp down on wasted heat and energy we will double glaze your existing windows, if they are wide enough to carry a double glazed unit. If they are too slender then we can remake them to match the originals to carry a sealed unit. Most customers are more than happy with the results of a draught proofing system and rarely call upon new glass. Double glazing is usually adopted when your street has a lot of traffic noise or similar. Draught proofing will help to cut this noise by sealing the perimeters however obviously is not as effective as two panes of glass.

What we offer.

We offer a comprehensive repair service and are always looking to salvage windows at any opportunity. This particular box sash window required new pulley style, front cheek, inner cheek, nosing and a full window sill. Once assembled we then prime, under coat and make ready for decoration. All repairs are sealed and made water tight. This gives a resonable period of grace before decoration is required.
As you can see once repairs are effected would be hard pressed to tell the window hard ever been rotten. All of our repairs carry a five year guarantee.
